Sometimes, plumbing issues come from your Ludlow water supplier. If you notice a lack of water, discolored water, or low water pressure, call your utility company to make sure that they didn’t shut off your water or adjust the flow. If this isn’t the case, then you’ll need the help of a plumbing professional.
Blockages frequently cause toilets to overflow. When the water can’t flush down the drain, it backs up into your bathroom and leaks out of the bowl. If your toilet keeps overflowing, someone in your household might be flushing feminine hygiene products, cotton swabs, paper towels, floss, or other non-flushable items. Consider reminding everyone not to flush anything but toilet paper.
Be mindful, though, that flushing too much toilet paper at once can also block your pipes. Likewise, never try to wash eggshells, grease, litter, coffee grounds, oils, or packaging down the drain. These substances will clog your pipes and cause sewage backup.
New construction and water main breaks may lead to dirty water. However, if you’re not aware of any construction in your area, you might have cracked, rusted, or corroded pipes contaminating your water supply. Sediment buildup in your hot water tank is another frequent culprit.
During plumbing service, Pioneer Valley Environmental may flush out your hot water tank or replace your old plumbing with new pipes. When possible, we use noninvasive techniques, such as pipe relining.
